Rooms Characteristics
Historic or Modern Building?
The objective of the conversion from the old Hospital of San Juan de Dios (dating back to 1929) into the current hotel was to maintain a respect for the old structure while amplifying the building, adding a U-shape structure that today houses guest rooms and the RA Wellness Centre to the west, and function rooms to the east.
The historic building, in tact in its unusual position opposite the sea, posesses its own identity forged during 80 years of existence. The most ilustrious spaces of the hotel are located in the body of the old building; the great hall, function rooms, restaurants and bars, the grand terrace and the patio of orange trees (l'Orangerie) that occupy nearly the entire ground floor. For this reason, the rooms that are found in the area of the hotel maintain the structure of high ceilings and allow easy access to reception and restoration area.
The contemporary building, next to RA Wellness, has been built around shallow pools of sea water that are constantly renewed, with the idea in mind of protecting guest privacy and guaranteeing silence. In this area the majority of Deluxe and Premium Deluxe rooms can be found with their respective terraces. Deluxe rooms are located on the sides, with a side-view of sea, while the Premium Deluxe rooms enjoy a unique location with frontal sea-views from the base of U-shape as well as from its vertices.
